Das Boot!

Well the name of this post is in reference to my newest fashion accessory. My new boot. Yes that is meant to be non-plural. I managed to fracture my foot. It is a small one, but non the less was causing me a great deal of pain. It started about 4 weeks ago with a little bit of pain ever now and then while I was at work. So I thought that I would get new shoes and it would go away. It did for a little while, but I stopped wearing my new shoes after day 1 since they hurt my feet. And the pain came back and with a vengeance. Scared I finally called the Dr. which gave me the run around and said she was out of town and that I should go to urgent care. Lame! So I did and was told it was a sprain..again Pain in FOOT and am told it is an ankle sprain. Needless to say about a week and half later I can barely walk I was in so much pain. Made an appointment with another Dr. and ta da x-rays and boot. The boot has been helping for the most part. I just wish it came in pink or something fashionable.
I will post more tomorrow or whenever I am tired.

I am thinking about deleting my blog, I never seem to post and I swear I seen a tumble weed blow across my screen the other day. I think I just have to realize that not everyone wants to hear me speak. And that is cool, just send me a memo letting me know and I will shut up. Who knows maybe if I delete this I just might have the motivation to not be a hot mess and actually start a YouTube channel. Anyhow here is a good week folks.

Working on things.

I have been working on making this into a Vlog, and for those that don't know. That means a video blog. Probably about 4 min clip of ME ranting and raving about everyday life once a week. I might of worked on it today but I am a hot mess.
And with the recent temperatures that is a total fact! I had a nice surprise tonight seen Christel and her boyfriend at Giant Eagle. I don't know what it is about that woman but we are always running into each other at the grocery store.
On the PCOS diary. I tried to talk myself into taking my pills.. and quickly also talked myself out of taking it. Damn scary side effects. I have done some research on some more natural ways to help alleviate the symptoms.
I am hoping that this week it gets cooler. It being like 110+ at work is the suck.

Another fantastic birthday!

The first few days of being 31 have been wonderful and I have given a lot of thought to the list of 31 things that I want to accomplish this year. I look forward to the rewarding things this year has to offer. I spent the better part of today reading blogs about infertility and PCOS. For those that can read in between the lines, Yes I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). By definition "Polycystic ovary syndrome is a condition in which there is an imbalance of a woman's female sex hormones."- PubMed Health. PCOS is the leading cause of infertility in women. This year I am going to make the right decisions to make myself healthier. I will not let this define me! One of the darker days in the past year was finally getting the diagnosis, and being told that your plans for a family and future are not yours to make. I was unsure about posting such personal and private information. This going back to not letting this define who I am, this is me. The good, bad and fertility challenged. :)

As the above title reads..I will be 31 in less then 4 days. Here are 31 things I am planning on doing this next year.

5. Not let having PCOS define who I am or my life.
6. Meditate EVERYDAY
7. Study Buddhism
8. Take my Medication on a daily basis
9. Be thankful for the small things
10. Do a random act of kindness once a day
11. Kick my sugar addiction
12. MOVE
13. Travel outside the country again
14. Finally finish reading the Harry Potter books.
15. Let my hair grow out
16. Work on my time management at work
17. Learn something new about cooking everyday
18. Try a new recipe once a week
19. Get a tattoo
20. Be even more fearless then I was this year
21. Reconnect with a friend from the past
22. Spend more time with my family
23. Become more eco friendly
24. Finally get my Paladin to 85 in World of Warcraft

By far the best part of being 30 was realizing the things that I used to think I needed before I turned 30, were not really what I wanted. It was quiet liberating. Life is funny like that at times.

The best vacation EVER!

So we have been back from vacation for about 2 weeks now. Sadly we had to come home to reality. There really are no words that can describe the amazing vacation we had. Lazy days by the ocean, rum drinks in hand and warmth of the sun. Shesh! I want to go back. I have already been scoping out ticket prices. I am going to leave it up to The Fuzz to give a more in depth report of our vacation.

Been busy!!!

So Team Schell has been really busy with life.
Like stupid busy!
But things have kinda calmed down, only to pick back up about a month from now when we will be in JAMAICA! for about 8 days :)
I can not wait! The Fuzz has helped me from exploding with excitement!
Spring is almost here and that is a welcomed season, winter was harsh this year. I will say that I kinda did get lucky and really didn't have to use a snow-brush (thank you heated garage at work :) )
We also have spent a lot of our time back in World of Warcraft. Yes it is my on going love/hate addiction. I think it was easier giving up smoking then trying to kick the WoW habit. We moved back to one of my original servers that we used to play on back in the day, Joined the same guild and have been kicking ass and taking herbs. It is coffee time, and I need to get going.

I Give Up

- This is a rant. Don't like it? Don't care. -

So I've officially given up on this country. I can no longer stand to live in a place filled with arguably the stupidest people on the face of the Earth. I deleted two friends off Facebook because of their shitty, tasteless jokes about the suffering going on in Japan.

The American people as a whole, and some of the few I know in person, disgust me in a way that I find hard to describe. The United States of America literally has nothing going for it whatsoever. Say what you want about the economy but the middle class is still in the shitter and will probably remain there for my entire lifetime. Education is non-existent. The rich get richer and everyone else dies trying. The government is full of nothing but whiny self-indulgent assholes that care for nothing except themselves.

We have a military fighting a baseless war that has gone on for over 1/3 of my life so far. Thousands dead. Tens of thousands wounded. And for what? Safety? We aren't safe. We never will be. Oil? Gas is approaching $4.00 a gallon so we obviously didn't win the oil. Democracy and freedom? It will never work. How can we really install a democratic system into a hostile country when the damn system doesn't even work in our own country?

We sell guns to mentally unstable people so they can slaughter whoever they want in Arizona. We ban McDonald's from selling Happy Meals because little Timmy's parents don't make him get his fat ass outside to play. But Timmy can't go outside because he has a good chance of getting picked up by some whack job in a van full of candy. Surely, little Timmy will be safe in catholic church right? No fucked up weird people there...oh, except for the jackass giving the damn sermons.

The sad part is that it is 3:30 in the morning and I've only scratched the top of the surface with this crap. 6,400 dead Japanese and not one report of looting. A nuclear plant melting down and there are brave people risking serious radioactivity and death just to keep things in check. Refugees are sharing food and water. Hell, they are even still bowing when they receive these things.

Pathetic U.S.A. You could do so much better but we all know you won't.

Genealogy and us.

Since we are super nerds, we spent our day at the library. In the genealogy room looking up our ancestors. This is NO small task let me tell you. I have a family that does not talk a lot about our "roots". Not because there is something to not discuss. But when you have people that to do talk to each other that often you lose bit of history. So today I found out that I am a lot of different nationalities on my mothers side. Some are easily seen, my blood grandfather is Italian so I tend to speak with my hands..A LOT. His mother came from Italy and there is a copy of her immigration from Ellis Island. My Great Grandmother is an immigrant from Poland (that also explains a lot) with her surname being Babsky, whom married a English fellow named Ackroyd. And Frederick's father was a writer I believe that was friends with Jack London. And from an phone call to my aunt today I found out that Jack London once visited with my grandmother as a child! But sadly today we ran out of time at the library so I was just able to scratch the surface with my mothers side. I have yet to begin digging around my fathers side since his side seems to be more sketchy on details. But it is cool to know where you come from. I am going to meet with my aunt soon to look over some pictures that she has of the family and I will be writing more once I get some more information. So look forward to more information on my tree.
The Fuzz seemed to get further on paper then I was able to. Which was awesome, but I will let him write it in his own words.

I also indulged in another guilty pleasure today while at the library, I dug into a Post Secret book, and found 2 SECRETS! I feel so privileged and honored to of have read another persons secret. The first one was sad, and the second made me smile.
I know that I posted this later then I had anticipated but on our way home we decided to stop at a new Chinese restaurant that we have never been to. 100 Flowers and it was good. Hooray! I am pretty particular of my Chinese food, and this place was able to meet my standard.

Holy Record Speed Batman!

2 Weeks ago today we had applied for our passports, thinking that with a little over 3 months until we go on vacation that we might be cutting it close. At the time the website quoted 4-6 weeks for process and delivery. Boy was I excited to see them delivered today! We did not pay to have them expedited any faster either.
With passports in hand we are just even more ready to go!
Other then that not a whole lot.
Team Schell is currently down 44lbs. Hooray!
We had the greatest server of all time last night at Bob Evan's. His name was Brian. When you and your server can talk about Star Wars, Nipples and you even get a fist full of pink bendy straws....you have an awesome server.

And I want to thank my FANTASTIC husband for the super sweet post he made. Yes we had a wonderful anniversary.

On February 14th of 2010, you made me the happiest person in the world when you said "I do." Not a day has gone by that I don't thank God for bringing you into my life. You are my most bestest friend in the universe and I can't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone but you. Thank you for always being there for me, for being amazing at everything you do, and most importantly...for loving me. I know we both get stubborn at times and things don't always go as well as we plan them to. And there will always be bumps in the road. But I also know that it's a road I only want to share with you. I still can't believe that it has been a year, but it has been the best year of my life and I can't wait to see what future years have in store. Happy Anniversary my love! I love you so much it's retarded!

Getting back onto the Van (Wagon)

As the title suggests..we like candy, kittens and windowless vans. But it seems that two of those three is now bad for your health. Or in my case all 3.

But have decided to make some healthy choices in life so that we may have a healthy and happy family. (no babies until after Jamaica) We are not in a huge hurry, we enjoy life, vacations, 2am drives and spending money on Magic cards.
We are currently down 33lbs. Hooray! We were down close to 50 until a back injury and the holidays. And I have a weakness for cake...if there were ever to be a cake AA..I would probably have to go.

This past weekend we applied for our passports. We should have them in a few weeks. Cost more then I had expected. But when you look at the cost divided over 10 years it's not so bad. And gets us into Canada! Ha! I was so sad when they made it that you needed a passport to cross. If it wasn't for us going to Jamaica this year we probably would of never gotten our passports.

Dear Asshole that steals food from the fridge..

Grr. Like I get it maybe you were hungry and forgot to pack something..but nut up and tell me that you did. Sadly I wish that this was the only occurrence of this. Last week I left a yogurt in the fridge that expired that day with the date circled and "FREE" was written on it. To my surprise I came in the next day and the yogurt was gone...and so was the other one in a different location that did not have free on it. I really didn't lick the cheese stick but maybe the person will think twice before taking someone's food. With the hungry savages there...probably not.
On to something positive. Today I started the C25K program. I rock! It was kinda not as hard as I thought it would be, but kinda hard too. Like I didn't think I could jog, but to my surprise I was able to. Hardly no pain..yet... Lets just hope I have had my pain quota for the year already. So my next day to run will be Friday, they suggest that you take a day off between training. Mine will be spent swimming. Still trying to break in my snorkel fins before Jamaica.
Which is coming up super soon! I had this weird dream last night that I was scared to go on vacation because it was on the moon, and The Fuzz being the awesome husband that he is was trying to calm me down. But it wasn't because it was the moon that I feared going..it was because we would be the only ones there and I was scared that we would get left behind and lonley. A completely ration dream..not. Most of my vacation dreams all usually have to do with me getting ready and forgetting our passports or tickets. Which those two will never happen. Another awesome after 9pm dinner...fail.

Just a random weird video that happens to make me lolz. Thankfully Monday is over. Tomorrow if my back is cooperating, I plan on attempting to start the C25K. This is my second attempt at starting. I happen to believe that I am cursed, every time I go to start I hurt my back. I plan on running my first 5k this summer (or late spring) So if anyone has any information to share to a new runner please do so. Yes, Rusty this is where you email me and let me know about it all. There is a Orc Stomp 5k run at GenCon every year and this year I would love to participate. Get the nerd herd out and running..lol. But to be honest who ever came up with the idea of geeks at a gaming convention running. There are very few things that gamers actually run for..#1 the last can of Mt.Dew, #2 Any challenge where you feel that you are in jeopardy of losing a copy of a game because you didn't pre-order (highly unlikely) and finally #3. The sun. (some of us loathe the sun). Ughh almost 9 pm and I am just starting dinner. Toodles, loved ones.
